Best keywords for kitchen remodeling companies

These are the best keywords for kitchen remodeling that homeowners actually type, pulled from a U.S. search data set and sorted by the question sitting behind each one. Use the list to decide which pages your site needs, which searches deserve ad money and which ones to keep out of your campaigns.

How to read a keyword list when you sell kitchens

A homeowner rarely types the name of a remodeler first. The usual order runs from pictures, to materials, to cost, and only then to firms. That is why this page groups phrases by the stage of the project instead of by volume alone: the same person types four or five of these over a few months before a design consult is booked.

The traffic labels are ours and relative within this one data set (we pulled it in October 2026, seeded with four kitchen phrases). We print no search counts. The labels run from Grand opening, the biggest crowds, down through Busy weekend and Weekday trickle to Special order, the small but specific searches. Small does not mean worthless: a remodeler with a design calendar to fill often does better on a handful of precise town and project searches than on one enormous phrase shared with every firm and every magazine.

Phrases are shown in lower case, exactly as the data holds them. We left out the names of cabinet makers, home-center chains and countertop brands that show up in the pull, and we never print another company's name.

What the homeowner is wondering, and the page that answers it

Start here. Each row is a thought a homeowner has during planning, the way it tends to land in the search box, and the page a remodeling site needs so that thought ends on your domain.

The smallest group in the planning journey and the closest to a booked design consult. Almost everything here deserves its own landing page and its own ad group.

The core phrase in every word order

Most of these are one idea in different clothes, so treat them as a single topic with one strong page, and let your pages for each project type carry the variations.

Cost and budget searches

The group homeowners type most before they pick up the phone. A firm that refuses to discuss money anywhere on its site loses these people to a firm that will. Publish only what you can stand behind, in your own words and numbers.

Ideas, layouts and pictures

Early stage and very large. These people are collecting inspiration and may not hire for months. A portfolio page with real project descriptions catches them, and a clear first step keeps them.

Countertops, cabinets and other materials

Homeowners often shop for a surface before they shop for a firm. A site that explains the finishes you install, without claiming anything about price or performance, meets them in the middle of the journey.

How searchers add a place

We use these only to show how a town gets added to the core phrase. They say nothing about where we or any remodeler is located.

What to do with the kitchen remodeling keywords you pick

Pick a short list, not the whole pull. Choose the phrases that match the project types you actually want, assign each one a page, and write that page around the questions the searcher has at that stage. Our SEO plan works from exactly this kind of map, and the local SEO guide covers the town and Maps side.

Ads work from the same list but with different rules: the phrases in the firm-search table are the ones to bid on first, and Google Ads campaigns should keep the cost and idea searches in their own cheap test group or leave them out. If you are choosing what to write for the long idea and material searches, the content marketing guide shows how a remodeler can write those pages without giving permit, code or structural advice. Prices for any of this are on the pricing page.

Searches to keep out of your kitchen campaigns

These came up in the same data pull and attract the wrong visitor. In an ad account they become negative keywords; on a site they mean you do not need a page.

Homeowner mood and the campaign decision it calls for

The same searches mean different things to the person typing them, so we treat each mood differently when we set up an ad account.

Checklist for turning a keyword list into a kitchen remodeling site plan

  • Write down the three project types your design team most wants this season.
  • Give each of those project types a page, a layout description and a portfolio section.
  • List the real towns your crews reach and give each a page with something true about it.
  • Publish a how-we-price page in your own words, reviewed by whoever answers for your estimates.
  • Create one page per material you really install, and leave out the ones you do not.
  • Put your negative keywords in the ad account before the first click.
  • Check any wording about permits, warranties and schedules with your own counsel.
  • Revisit the list each season, since homeowner interest in materials and layouts drifts.

This page is research, not a promise: no list of searches can promise a ranking or a booked consult, and we do not claim one.

Questions remodelers ask about kitchen search phrases

Should a kitchen remodeler chase the biggest phrase on the list?

Usually not first. The largest searches are shared by every firm, magazine and home-center site in the country. A design-build company with a limited number of consult slots tends to get more from town-level and project-level phrases, which attract fewer people but more of the right ones.

Why are some of these phrases about countertops and not about remodeling?

Because homeowners start there. Someone choosing between quartz and soapstone is often months from a firm search, and a page that handles the material question sends that homeowner onward to your design consult instead of to a competitor.

Do cost searches mean I have to publish prices?

That choice is yours. What matters is that the searcher finds an honest explanation of how you price a kitchen, even if the answer is a description of what moves the number. Have your own counsel review anything that reads like a quote or a promise.

Why are home-center brand names and cabinet makers missing?

They appear in the raw data, but they are other companies' names. A site should not chase them, and an ad account should usually block them, so we left them out of the tables.

Does a bigger traffic label mean a better booking?

No. The label only says how many people type the phrase. A smaller phrase that names a town and a project type often leads straight to a design consult, while a huge phrase leads mostly to browsing.

How often is a list like this worth redoing?

Once a season is plenty for most firms, since the same questions return every year. Redo it sooner when you add a product line, open a showroom or begin working in a new town.

Want this keyword map built around your design calendar?

Tell us which project types and towns you want more of and we will sort the searches for you. Plan prices are on the pricing page.

Describe the kitchens you want more of

List the remodels you take on, the finish lines you like to install and the towns you work in. There is nothing to prepare first. Homeowner names, addresses and permit numbers can stay out of your message.

Drop a note on the design desk

A few sentences about your company are plenty. Stick to business questions and leave homeowner details and permit numbers out. Whoever opens the inbox reads each message in full.

Bring us the scope for your next season of kitchens.

Say which remodels you sell, which cabinet and countertop lines you favor and where your crews drive. What you get back is a frank assessment and one flat monthly figure. Please keep anything that identifies a homeowner, from names to permit numbers, out of what you write.

That floor plan drawing itself while you scroll is only an ornament. It is not a prediction of what any firm will see.
